Privacy Policy

AI Chat Exporter (“we”, “the extension”) is a browser extension that exports your conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Grok, and DeepSeek to PDF, Markdown, plain text, JSON, CSV, or image files.

Single purpose

The extension has one purpose: exporting your AI chat conversations into files you choose. Every permission it requests exists to serve that purpose.

What we process, and what we do not

• Chat content — never leaves your browser. To build an export file the extension reads the conversation already displayed on the page. All formats, including PDF, are generated locally on your device. We do not transmit, store, log, or have any access to your conversation content.
• Email address — only if you sign in. Signing in is optional and only needed for Pro. We store your email address so we can link your purchase to your account and sync Pro across your devices.
• PDF export records — only if you sign in. Each PDF you export adds one record holding your account reference and the date and time of that export, so the free plan's daily limit can be enforced across devices. The daily count is worked out from those records when the limit is checked. We never record file names, the exported file, or anything from the conversation.
• Billing record — only if you buy Pro. When Gumroad tells us about a purchase we store the Gumroad order reference, your renewal date, and the email address you bought with, so Pro can be activated and kept in sync. Card details never reach us.
• Local settings. Preferences, your daily PDF count while signed out, and your trial start date are kept in your browser's local extension storage and are not sent anywhere.

We do not collect browsing history, location, keystrokes, health data, or financial data. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or credit assessment. We do not use your data to train any model.

Payments

Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record. Payment details are entered on Gumroad and never reach our systems — we never see or store card numbers. After a purchase, Gumroad notifies us of the buyer's email address and subscription status so we can activate Pro. See Gumroad's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

Third-party services we use

• Supabase — authentication (sign-in links) and the database holding your email, subscription status, PDF export records, and the billing record described above.
• Gumroad — subscription billing.
• Chrome Web Store — distribution and updates.

Free trial

New installations receive a 3-day trial of Pro features. The trial is tracked entirely in your browser's local storage and requires no account or payment information.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account exists. You can delete local data at any time by removing the extension. To delete your account and associated records, email us at the address below. Deletion is done by hand by a person reading that inbox, and we will complete it within 30 days of your request.

Changes to this policy

If our data handling ever changes, we will update this page and the Last updated date at the top before the change takes effect. The extension's settings page links here, so you can always check the current version.
